Thoughts?Īnd most of all, THANK YOU for your advice sir/ma'am. I've also read a lot suggesting most CAI kits are not worth the effort on modern cars and don't give nearly the gain they claim they do, if any at all. As hot as the idea of adding a Supercharger with more displacement by itself then half the cars on the road is hot. probably beyond what I am seeking to spend. Something like a big air supercharger would require a lot of other changes would it not? Better transmission, shored up rear diff, tuning and dyno time. I read about that Kenne Bell kit but I've also read the 8 speed and rear diff can't handle much past 650hp and I don't want to shred my slushbox. Do you believe you would need spacers to give those wider tires more room so they don't hit the body? And what would you recommend tire/rim wise or at least point me in a direction where I can research this myself some?įorced induction is bad ass, no doubt.
But that would involve wider rims/rim replacements I imagine.

I wouldn't expect huge performance gains from chipping the SRT 392 V8.įirst world problems: my car came so awesome from the factory there's really not many mods I can do to improve it. The only thing one of those tuner chips really seem any good for is that some can let you "hack" the uConnect system so you can fuck with hidden settings or thrown in different background pictures or fonts and stuff like that. mine is the 6 speed, and if your car is coming with the 8 speed you already have pretty decent control over it anyway, it's tuned for performance from the factory. See, really in an NA car the biggest benefit to a chip is being able to have more control over shift points in an automatic transmission. I'm thinking about chipping mine, but not for the performance.
A hotter cam might be worth it, I've only been able to find 2 examples online so far of 2015 392s with cams but both of them saw decent gains. you might be able to move the power band up or down in the rev range with different configurations, but the exhaust system is the same is the one in the SRT 392 which is basically as potent as you can get while still being legal in all 50 states. From what my research as shown me so far, exhaust work is kinda pointless as far as power gains go. If you're wanting to keep it N/A, you can kind of convert your headlight and airbox to the same one a Hellcat uses and do a sort of backyard ram air kit. don't know how much I believe that claim, but I'd be happy with a ProCharger or something that put me around 650hp. Kenne Bell is making a kit that can apparently get over 900 hp out of a stock 392. Power wise, well, I really just want to go with forced induction in my Scat Pack.

if you need to upgrade the brakes though, I'd probably look at the SRT Brembos. While the Scat Pack brakes are smaller than the SRT brakes, they're the same ones used on pre 2015 SRT models and nobody really complained about them before. I've been told that the fixed suspension in the Scat Pack handles similarly to the SRT and Hellcat models when they're in sport or even track mode. While it's fun to be able to chirp your tires at 60mph, if you're looking to enhance performance throwing some bigger rubbers on there will make a huge difference.Īs far as I'm concerned, the suspension and brakes are already excellent.

245s just don't give a big enough contact patch for a 4000lb car with almost 500 horsepower.
